Planning permission for shop downstairs

My 2nd floor leasehold flat is currently on the market and I've returned home to discover a planning permission notice on the main front door for a change of business for the shop on the ground floor.

Basically it was a pet food shop and they want to change it to a launderette. My concern is that when I got my mortgage it was under the condition that there wasn't a launderette or cafe/take away etc in the business premises.

Obviously I'm worried that the above might affect potential buyers (if buying via mortgage) and also if this gives me grounds to object the planning permission with the council? Also, should I inform my lender?

Any advice would be gratefully accepted!

    Your lender proceeded on the basis of the then use of the shop, it's pretty unlikely your mortgage conditions require you to tell them if the use changes.

    Lenders' policies (or any effect on the value/marketability of your property) aren't a basis for objection, you'll need to keep to recognised planning grounds on amenity, noise/smell, hours of operation etc.

    Is it definitely launderette and not dry cleaners? I know dry cleaners can cause terrible chemicals to be released and i think they are even banned in some countries.
