Penny Shares-Help

Many years ago, in a fit of madness, I purchased penny shares in 3 companies. Two companies have been dissolved, but the 3rd, Caspian UK Holdings Ltd, appears on companies house as active. Despite this I can't find details of this company anywhere else. Even on the London Stock Exchange. I really need now to find the value of these shares.

Can anyone please tell me if there is anywhere I may be able to find the share value ?

It appears to be a Private Limited Company, in which case I am surprised you have any shares in it. Are you sure it's the right company name?

With a Private Limited Company shares are not traded on any exchange and they should not be offered to sale to members of the general public.

If you are sure you have the right company I suggest contacting them directly to find out what their rules are on valuing and selling shares - you may need the permission of the directors. If it is possible then it will be up to you to find a buyer yourself.

Yes it is the correct name. I bought them in Nat West bank in 2006.
I just don't know how to find out about them. I wish I'd never got them. If PLC shares aren't to be sold to the public , does that apply when bought through a bank ?

If you can see them in Companies house then you can see their address and Google will do the rest for you

Thanks serko I think that is a different company. Mine is Caspian UK Holdings which is on companies house. There are I believe several Caspian.

Companies house list the shareholders of Caspian UK Holdings on page 4 of the the annual return, of which there are two (Taji Zadeh and Caspian UK Group Limited)

The shareholder of Caspian UK Group Limited is also Taji Zadeh.

Companies change names frequently. This one used to be Gowrings Limited and before that Gowrings plc

Therefore you will need to check your details carefully. It's almost certain the above is not your company.

MDMD---Thanks for your input. It seems even more complicated than I thought. If I can find their value anywhere I can then chuck them. I think I may go to Nat West where I bought the shares and see if they can find out.

Can anyone tell me if penny shares pay out dividends ?

It will depend on the company. A penny share can pay out dividends if the company so chooses just like any other share, although as they tend to be smaller companies many do not pay any dividends.
