It is really difficult at the moment as my GP has diagnosed acute depression caused by all this, but it has got to the point that if I can't sort something by Tuesday then I will have to find somewhere else to live.
It is my wife's house and she has had enough of me. She told me if I can't support the family and she has to try and sort it herself, then she doesn't need me around.
So you can see how my life is falling apart at the moment and why I am desperate to try and find just £300 to settle the rent. .....
You've said above that you have a male landlord, David, and that you pay rent. If it's your wife's house, why are you paying her rent? To be honest with you, even if you get a loan this month, what are you going to do next month?0 -
I guess I will just have to see what happens next week.
Thanks to you for 'listening' at least and not being judgemental.0 -
I too am confused as to whose house it is? Presumably it is rented but whose name is on the rental agreement? If you are receiving benefits and these are going towards paying family bills then what power does your wife have to get you to move out? Getting a loan is not a viable solution in your situation and will cause you even more problems. I'm getting from this thread that it's a shared ownership property, they own their share outright and pay rent on the rest.
By the sounds of the last couple of posts, the wife is the owner of the shared ownership share.
The danger here is that with no mortgage lender to pay the rent and add it to the mortgage because they need to protect their asset, the LL can reclaim the whole property through court if you don't pay the rent. You lose the lot, all the equity.0 -
Dear Rtho782
This is exactly the situation, hence you might be able to understand the situation I am in?
We have struggled for some months and just about made payments on tine, sometimes asking fir a few extra days grace to allow the payments.
But this month we have managed £100 and have completely run out of money to pay the red, hence trying to raise some.....
Thanks for someone finally understanding0 -
we'll understand more if you guve us the whole story

If you were to get a loan how would you pay it back ?
I cant see how or where you can get a loan from to be honest.0 -
At the moment the house is in my wife's name ONLY, she put down the deposit and we pay rent on the rest.
She is also trying to find work at the moment.
We get income based JSA and housing benefit0 -
I have been told I cam start some temp work next week, but it will be two weeks until I get any money and I would use this to pay anyone back0

If you're married it's not as simple as it's her house because it's her name on it. You will be entitled to a share of any equity from it. I cannot see why she can have a go at you if she's not working either! Sauce for the goose and all that.
So stay calm and go for the temp job. Tell your lenders the situation and look towards the future when you will be getting a wage again. It isn't an easy or quick process to get someone out of a house, so don't think that as soon as the rent doesn't get paid you'll be out.
Good luck!0
