You've done nothing wrong - you'd a privately owned 14 year old vehicle that you sold in good faith with almost a years MOT.

I think you're perfectly in the clear then.

I'd say its a combination of buyers remorse and stubborn mindedness that is now driving this.

Even if he does take it to small claims, he's not allowed to claim for lawyers etc - both of you present your cases and the magistrate decides.

Even in the worst case, you're not going to be much worse off than if you caved now.

I'd just sit back and wait for the court papers (if they ever come).
