Panasonic Vdr-d100 Camcorder Newbie

hi everyone
i have bought a panasonic vdr-d100 camcorder which records direct to dvd rom.
now i dont know how to edit the video i have recorded once i have transfered it it to my laptop.
i have copied the dvd to my laptop and it is a mpeg file but the software i have tried doesnt seem to recognise the file.
any help please?

You may need to convert the MPEG 2 files to another format if you wish to edit.

Alternatively, you could send the video to your computer(instead of reading the disc directly) and have it saved to another format.

you mean by usb instead of transfering the actual disc?

Yes. Otherwise you may have to convert the material on the disc to another format in order to edit it properly.

Not sure where you are having difficulties. Are you expecting someone to do the editing for you? Trial and error is the way.
