Parking ticket advice - NORTHERN IRELAND

Hi all,
Thanks in advance for your help on this.
I received two parking tickets in a CPS Handypark in Northern Ireland. December 2016. I have only now received documents from them asking me to pay the higher fine as I didn't pay the original one. The letters were addressed to me as I am the registered keeper, but to be honest - I can't remember who was driving the car on each occasion. They state that it may result in legal action if I don't pay.
Do I leave it or do I pay up? From reading the newbie thread and other advice, my instinct is to leave it, but just looking to see if anyone here has any experience of this company (office in Belfast)? And whether they are likely to peruse this. Some of the details are wrong on the letter they have sent too, spelt my name wrong etc.
Thanks again.

It is not a fine.
There is no POFA 2012 in NI, so only the driver can be held liable. If the scammers don't know who the driver is, they are stuffed.
The best way to ensure the scammers don't know the driver's identity is never to contact them.
In other words, in NI (and Scotland) ignore the scammers unless you get real court papers. If that happens, let us know as you will be the first. Please make sure your local shops have plenty of popcorn in store as the court may be invaded by the regulars from this forum.
The NEWBIES sticky thread tells you all about dealing with parking scammers in NI. It also explains why it is safe to ignore debt collectors anywhere in the UK.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0 -
Thank you so much for your reply Fruitcake. It has put my mind at ease. Appreciate that.0

Agreed - search the forum for 'Scotland' and this is discussed all the time. There is less mention of NI here, but the advice is exactly the same for those two countries (unless a person has a lease/hire/company car, you can't ignore a windscreen PCN.
All explained in the top thread for newbies to read first.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi
I live in Belfast and have received a fine for the parking and enforcement agency ltd total amount due is £160
I have received 3/4 letters and the most recent one states
!!!8220; as the matter has not been resolved we have referred the matter the the creditor consider the meter for legal action. Before commencing such action I have been instructed by the creditor to give you one final opportunity to settle the mater so that he can demonstrate to the court. !!!8220;
The letter also states
!!!8220; the creditor has advised that!!!8217;s he is prepared to accept a reduced sum of 70% of the amount above in full and final settlement providing payment is made In the next 14days
Should I pay this or just sit it out?0 -
IGNORE , its that simple
come back if you ever receive court papers, until then its all bluff and bluster0 -
Read the thread you've just hijacked. It answers that question.0

Brazer, if you were to read the earlier posts in this thread, you would already know the answer to your question.

Sorry for posting on someones thread, but i couldn't find how to start a new one...
November last year i got issued a parking ticket , that i tried to appeal, but it was rejected. I wan't sure what to do then and didn't wanted to pay it as i don't think it was fair.
I always pretty much used same car park, if i have to work longer hours as it's close to my work. On the day i didn't had change so i used an Parkmobile app. I just pressed start button on the screen and popped my phone in my pocket. Have't used my phone for till about lunch time, as we are not allowed to have our phones with us at work. But when i headed to my luch break, i have noticed and error message on my screen, which started something like "Opps! Something went wrong..." or similar, i can't remember now, and silly me didn't thought of taking a screenshot of it. The parking app was still open in the background, but after turning the error message off i realised that timer is not running. So i just straight away pressed it again and it was running. it got me worried, but I was't sure what happened there. And after work when i got to my car of course penalty charge was stuck onto my windscreen. I have appealed penalty charge, but they have decided it was issued correctly as according to them no app failures or error were recorded on the day, but i think it could've been just failure to launch an app correctly on my device. I thought parking was being paid and surprised they would't take into consideration of app failure on devices. I have previously paid parking ticket's when it was my fault (forgetfulness isn't a very good thing), but in this case i don't think i should be liable, even more because i started an app straight away after realising it wasn't running. Any advice? thanks in advance0 -
