Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
A bright sunny morning, laundry out on the line, so fingers crossed. Forecast is OK ish.
Shopping this morning, OH needs more compost, Morrison are selling 3 bags for £9, I also need a small shop at Lidl, fresh veg for the weekend.
Part of the new regime, we are going to Sainsbugs for fish and chips at lunch time. I cooked at lunchtime yesterday OH was bowling last night, so 2 nights without cooking supper, yipee.........
Today is stepsons 49th birthday which means that DD2 is 49 in a couple of weeks. Tempus fugit....too blooming fast at times.
Not much to report, one last load of laundry to go in tonight, tomorrow is forecast to be the best day of the weekend, so it should dry.
Most of the cuttings I took appear to have rooted, will leave the covers on them for another few days, they will need potting on in a couple of weeks. The roots of the old plants I repotted have all shot with new leafs, not bad. The interior of the nappies I left soaking in the trays under the plants have done their job well, when I pot the plants on I will add the 'gunge' to the compost, so the plants will need less watering. Its a good tip if you are going away and need to leave plants. I will explain how to do it on my blog with pictures a bit later.0 -
I got up early, hung a load of washing outside and checked bank details online to make sure pension had gone in etc.
I forgot it was a holiday on Monday and wondered why family were suggesting a day out
The staircase has been creaking even worse and sounding almost as if it was about to splinter so son in law found a local person with good feedback to come round yesterday. It turns out that as well as the gas, water, electrics, multi fuel stove etc having been bodged by the previous git - er owner - so has the staircase.
It is so bad he has suggested only one person goes up or down it at a time. Have agreed he will start work on it one day next week and will replace the bottom half and warped and bowing mid landing. He will try to save as much as he can but until he actually starts he won't know just how bad it could get. Spindles are wrongly spaced as well
Sent another dd an e mail to let her know and also asked when I was cooking for family so I can go shopping today and stock up.
A meat delivery arrives on Tuesday but I need fruit and veg etc for the weekend. I also need to pick up a prescription and will fit that in with the gardener lady coming round. A few days away and the weeds look like triffids!

Weight can be dealt with but the stupid people taunting you will always be stupid and nasty. You have done so well - don't let the B******s grind you down.
I have been trying to eat sensibly for a week and have lost three pounds. Not amazing but as I was not being over strict I am fairly pleased.
It is the second anniversary of losing DH on Monday and I thought I was coping but just found myself in tears but feel better for it.
Hugs to all especially TA, dumpling, csarina and Karcher."This site is addictive!"

DUMPLING poppet, we 'see' the real you in every generous, kind, loving and courageous word you write down here. People who judge other people without knowing a single thing about just what makes them up as a human being are incredibly ignorant and very unlucky because all they see is a 'shell' and not the warm and gentle bravery and determination that is at the core of YOU! You have done and are doing incredibly well, you have the courage to leave the house now, in fact to leave it on your own and face the world which would have been so very hard for you a couple of years ago. You not only cope with the emotions of teenagers every day you encompass them, help them, support them and love them even more you understand them as individuals, remarkable in light of your own ongoing health problems. You young woman are inspirational, it's a real pleasure to know you and you are an object lesson to us all in coping and 'growing' as a person, bless you you're a bright shiny little STAR xxx.0

Dumpling, I know you post on the old style weightloss thread and you are doing well, You will get there, just keep going0

Hi all,
got a friend arriving shortly so tidied and hoovered. Hoovering a lot more since we found out DGD after tests has been found to be allergic to dog hair and dander. She had a bad flare up during the Easter holidays with her eczema and had been staying with her other Nanna who has 4 dogs( 3 little & 1 medium ) so I may be getting a little obsessive
.
Been to town this morning for marks meal deal, some rump steak which we'll have on Sunday.Got 2 tops from the hospice shop, and realised the man at the till has diddled me out of 50p,never mind its the hospice that cared for my DDad so they are more than welcome
Jackie,so glad you enjoyed your Lanky hol.I still certainly class myself as Lancastrian even though Local Gov reorganisation says that Bolton is now in Greater Manchester :rotfl:TA , we call them barm cakes but older folks like my Mum and Gran used to say flour cakes, and oven bottoms are just oven bottoms.Tea cakes have currants in them :rotfl:
Dumpling, have a hug, some people are so mean.Mrs LW puts it very eloquently ,better than me but I'm sure we all agree.Hope DD is finding her therapy helpful.
Hugs to Karcher and Elona,& Csarina good for you!
Bye for now xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Thank you all, I'm in tears again but they are happy ones. I feel so grateful to have such wonderful friends online and in real life too. I have had a think and have decided that I am not going to let those mean spirited people stop me from living my life, I am doing well with my weight loss....mostly.... and I am very proud of being able to go to all the meetings and appointments I need to with my girls. Thank you all again for helping me realise this. :happyhear0

Not really and dds have suggested I complain but I don't want to go into it all. The previous owner has hidden quite a lot and they are not allowed to move things, take up carpets etc when surveying so I suppose things will slip through.
Dumpling
You are sounding much more positive and am so glad.."This site is addictive!"

Afternoon all,I had to go and get my meds on Monday as I had run out on the Friday so spent a couple of days without them. Unfortunately for me I had to listen to people in town laughing about my size. It hasn't happened for a little while as I rarely go out on my own. I felt devastated and ready to never go out again. This isn't possible though so I am going to have to toughen up.Gosh, I sound so ungrateful, don't mean to be. I'm so very grateful to have such good friends who travel up from the depths of England to visit me and my Highland home. Just not all at once please!
Tru Youngest was pretty well forced into buying a new car too. It was running soundly but things were beginning to go wrong. When he got to the stage where he couldnt trust his speedo he knew he'd either got to spend the money on it or buy a newer one. Thing is the money needed to fix it was more than the car was worth. Time will tell if he made the right choice. His new car is a Fiat. His Dad says Fiat stands for 'Fix It Again Tomorrow'. Youngest says it stands for 'Ferarri In A Tin'. Only time will tell which one of them is more accurate.:D
One of the hounds has got bad guts again. She got me up at 2pm and left a pile on the hall carpet when the men got up to go to work this morning. Good job i'd got the carpet cleaner but we are having a new tiled kitchen floor soonish. I think we will be ripping up the hall carpet too to tile that as well. Carpets are so unhygienic when you have dogs and this time next year i'll most likely have a baby crawling on it.
The Baby House is on the move again. To somewhere more secure hopefully, thieves broke into the garden and stole all the babies outside toys.
