Hi,
I had a parking 'ticket' through the post from New Generation Parking Management back a few weeks ago.
To give a bit of background I had attended a charity event and mistakenly parked on land owned by the business premises next to the building where the event was being held. I genuinly had no idea I was breaking any rules by parking where I did.
The notice I received in the post told me I had to pay £100 or £60 in the first two weeks. I ignored this letter and I have now received another in the post this week which is headed 'Final Reminder'.
I've read the newbie sticky post at the top of the forum but I was wondering my best course of action now as I am now outside of the appeal window?

Ignore them until court claim (or Letter before Claim, which needs a response) then defend and win...that's it, in a nutshell.
DO NOT PAY.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

In this second letter I have received it states the following...
"If settlement is not received within 14 days of this notice we reserve the right to take further action to recover this debt and will result in your details being forwarded on to a debt recovery agency and/or you may be pursued for the outstanding debtthrough the courts under the POFA act 2012"
Do I need to worry about this?0 -
Nope. Not sure what you need to know that's not already covered in post #4 of 'NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST' (post #4 of it being all about 'ignore the debt collector letter chains' stage).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I have read the information you refer to, but it is a bit overwhelming and a lot to take in. I am just looking for some addtional guidance and I appreciate you taking the time to reply.
In your post above you refer to 'a letter before claim'. I am assuming this is the letter telling me It's being taken to court?
If so, I assume I then follow this advice from the newbie guide?...
If the letter threatens court imminently, or a solicitor like 'Wright Hassall(!) or LPC Law, then consider responding to tell the debt collector that the charge is disputed/denied, and send a robust appeal as the registered keeper (NOT DRIVER!) to the PPC as discussed here:0 -

What, just post #4, only post #4. Which simply says - ignore debt collector letters. Is this one easier to follow?

I've just had my first debt collector letter from 'Financial Enforcement Company'. Charge is now up to £160. As per the advice of the newbie sticky I am going to ignore this letter. How many letters do they usually send before escalating to court. How is the LBC letter distinguished exactly?
Cheers0 -

The charge has not gone up to £160 the muppet debt collectors have just slapped on their fat fee for template letter sending.
An LBC won't come from debt collectors they usually threaten they are recommending that the ppc commence legal action but they don't really do that as they get nothing, they just give up.
Clue: an LBC is usually titled Letter Before Claim or Letter Before Action!0 -

All part of the smoke and mirrors game played out by this truly awful skimdustry. Addresses in Regent Street and Canary Wharf - my @rse!Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Oh dear, another lackie bunch of the money scam collectors
And they say on their faded web site
"The Financial Enforcement Company (FEC) has offices strategically based around the UK to maximise the opportunity to collect outstanding Parking Charges."
No doubt some commission earning bods working from home
Dream on FEC, DREAM ON:rotfl:0 -
Here is a bit more information on them http://www.bmpa.eu/companydata/New_Generation_Parking_Management.html
They do sometimes issue court papers but it's not very often. Most likely people they consider an easy target looking at those figures.
If you do get court papers a good defence should see them off.0
