On the beach- complaint??

I've booked flights via on the beach for myself, my son and mum. I am the lead passenger but its my mums payment card that was used to pay for them. The flights booked were for around £700. On the beach called me after the booking to say the flights had gone up to around £850 so I said OK. When I told my mum she wasn't happy and said as the card holder they should've asked her if she was happy with it as she would have refused. I've contacted on the beach who have basically fobbed me off and said theres nothing they can do. Should they not have asked my mums authority not mine? Have they taken the money fraudulently? Is there anything we can do to get the money back? Thanks

Has the airline received payment, ticketed the flight and issued a confirmation? If so, I think it's unlikely on the beach will do anything to help.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Yes, the transaction was unauthorised. Your mum can contact her bank and request a chargeback.
You would then need to make alternative arrangements to pay for the flights.0 -
Yes. That was exactly their response. Because the airline had confirmed the booking, on the beach couldn't do anything. I told them they took the payment without proper authorisation but they basically said there's nothing they could do.Has the airline received payment, ticketed the flight and issued a confirmation? Ah right, OK. Even though it was an online booking and all the card details were inputted online?!? They can still accept verbal confirmation from me and make me liable for payment. OK. Thanks for your help. You have missed the second paragraph. You agreed the price, if your mother requests a chargeback you are still liable for payment. The booking is still valid.0 -
You made the booking so you were always liable for payment, you then agreed to pay the increased price.Ah right, OK. Fraud? Perhaps but its you committed it, if you used your mums card without authorisation, a chargeback or section 75 will fail on that basis as she gave you permission to use her card, which is probably a breach of the cards T&C anyway0
