New Registered Owner

Hi guys,

Bought a car from a dealer back at the start of the month and as of yet, haven't had any new owner paperwork through... is that normal? The dealer assures me that he's done everything he needed too his side? Is there an average time it takes or anything?

I've literally been out of the car game for years

Purchased a car on 31 March, change of ownership for new and old car done on line at the dealer, new V5 took about 10 days.

Notification old car was no longer our responsibility arrived a couple of days later.

Bought a car last August, Bought on the Monday and the new V5C arrived on the Wednesday. Keeper change done online.

Right... I think the date of sale on my receipt says the 2/4. I didn't ask at the time or earlier but my details were written on the old V5, so I assumed they were mailed in? I'll ask him tomorrow

The dealer should have given you the green section 10 of the V5C. Did he?

It tells you on that what to do if you don'e get the new V5C within 4 weeks.

No, actually. But he did give me a very nice receipt

Yes, yes - sorry, I do actually. It was folded up in my buyers pack. I'd forgotten what was in there

So I can request a new V5 myself after 4x weeks?
