However, it doesn't nullify the fact that I have had a really awful experience. I do think that it's important that such problems are pointed out so that banking institutions will try to improve their service.
    .

    Mainly self inflicted inconvenience maybe.

The saddest thing about this thread is not the lack of understanding of money laundering processes, nor the fact you do not seem to have listened to, learned from or appreciated the help given, but the obvious difficulty your "Im right because im right" attitude will continue to bring you.

God knows the state you would be in if VM didnt bother with checks and just gave your money away to any old 3rd party.

    Damned whatever they do, eh?

ps Yes, have read entire thread.

I have moved my savings to different banks before in order to receive better interest rates, and yet I never came across such problems that I'm experiencing with Virgin Money. I don't believe that this is self inflicted at all tbh, because apart from my correct address, Virgin Money have my correct phone number, email address, and ect. They really should have got in touch with me before blocking my account, alternatively they should have asked for the necessary docs early after opening the account.

totally agree. not sure why others think you are the one at wrong here.

based on what you said I would never want to bank with virgin. they should have verified your ID before. now in order to progress you have no choice but to do what they ask. this alone makes me worried to even have anything to do with virgin money. I do have virgin broadband and their customer service is crap. luckily the net works fine so I don't have to deal with them. I wouldn't want anything else virgin however.

How many sites can you go to and discuss problems with a Virgin without the better half giving me a cuff around the back of the head :)

The OP appears to have made no effort whatever to raise a formal complaint. All we get from them is a mass of unverifiable allegations interspersed with totally irrelevant statements like:
All the while, London properties are being bought by Chinese, Russian, and middle eastern hot money, wish Virgin Money could do something to stop those transactions.
If the OP believes they have a case against Virgin Money, why are they apparently so reluctant to invoke the correct method for having it investigated?

Have you raised the mater as a complaint? If not, instead of repeating your unverifiable allegations, why have you not formally complained to Virgin?

im not saying she is right on everything she has said. and I agree if she wants her money she will have to do as virgins requires her to.

however asking for ID after she opened account and transferred the money and also blocking it is not good practice and I would say its very bad for virgin money to do it this way. they should have asked for ID before account opening. it may be perfectly legal and even in the terms. however its not a good way to do things for obvious reasons hence the OPs frustration. based on this I would never want anything to do with virgin money.

if it is anything like virgins poor customer service and Barclays too, there is no point raising a complaint, she will get more frustrated. if maybe all legit and in the terms what they are doing.

the OP should just do what they ask and then move money and shut her account with virgin and have never have anything to do with them again. simple as that.

I agree with you that what Virgin is asking of the OP is probably legit. That may be one reason why the OP is reluctant to raise a complaint.
The OP in post number 10 has accused Virgin saying::
Their dishonesty in saying that they have sent letters to me, which is obviously a lie, when have 6 letters sent on different occasions all been lost!
This might be regarded as defamatory and perhaps that is another reason why the OP is reluctant to raise a complaint.
It is a principle of justice in this country that if someone alleges wrongdoing by another, the onus on the accuser to produce evidence of the wrongdoing. Again this may be a third reason why the OP is reluctant to raise a complaint.
