I was considering opening a savings account with Virgin Money, even registered but didnt go so far as to give them my hard earned money. I'm so pleased I didn't after reading your post. I have read so many bad reports on them. Will just leave my money where it is untill I find a decent bank/building society to put it in!

Just in the interests of balance, I 'd like to say that I find them excellent. I've had half a dozen accounts with them and find them easy to deal with and reliable. They make things simpler than some other banks I deal with.

This thread is a handy reminder for me to open yet another Virgin Money Regular Saver.

This thread is also a handy reminder of how one awkward customer can make numerous unverified allegations against a savings provider. The fact that the whinger obstinately refused to take the matter up directly with Virgin suggests to me that their allegations might be bogus.

There's nothing wrong with Virgin Money. Clearly the original poster need to give information which she didn't want to do.
  • While I agree that OP should understand that money laundering rules require proof of identity, I have also been asked by Virgin for NEW proofs after opening a new fixed rate bond with the proceeds of an old one. This is totally out of order and unnecessary!
