I have spoken to the chaps wife when I called his number, she advised she'd let him know I'd called and ask him to ring me back so again it's unlikely that it is a purchase made without his knowledge.
So if you spoke to his wife why didn't you tell her something along the lines of "I need confirmation of collection in 24 hours or I will sell it to someone else". This would have stopped you needing to put it into storage.
If you had their phone number why would you wait all that time for eBay to investigate when you could have simply rang them again then taken the next buyers offer.0 -

Day 1... I accept their offer, the car is theirs, \i send the invoice and a message asking them to arrange collection in the timescale advised on the advert.
Day 2.... Not had a responce so I send a second message.
Day 3.... Still no answer, so send invoice again and send another message. At this point I just assume they've been busy and not had time to get back to me.
Day 4.... Still no answer, whilst on ebay I notice there's a contact number on the invoice, didn't see it before, ring the number, guys not home but wife says she'll get him ot ring me when he gets back form work. No call back that day.
Day 5... Still no response or call back, try the number a few times but no answer. Finally get an answer in the evening, wife tells me he's out but she'll tell him again to ring me. Fed up by now so I raise it with ebay, the guys has really good feedback (100% on 900 transactions) so I assume opening a case will give him the kick up the !!!! needed.
Day 6 / 7 / 8/ 9... no repsonce, no call backback, so I close the case and get the car relisted. As explained, by this point the existing mot has expired making the insurance void so I couldn't leave the car on the road anymore.0 -

Are we talking about an X-Type by any chance? You keep mentioning Jaguar, rust, and sill-covers, so it seems a logical conclusion.
If we are talking about an X-Type, Theresa no way the outer sills wouldn't be considered structural in part.
Also, as suggested above, if the MOT tester can't see the damage without removing parts, he won't fail the car - it'll be a pass and advise. Your story doesn't add up.0 -

No, you couldn't leave it on the road as it had no mot. It's arguable it shouldn't have been on the road even with the mot in force given the state of the bodywork.0 -
I have an ebay account where 3 people have access to it. Perfectly normal.
My name and bank linked to it but nothing to stop the others using it to bid and buy stuff.
Not family or people living at the registered address either.
Who told you the sills are not structural? The same person that said your MOT failure was roadworthy?
My mum has bought stuff off ebay and she doesnt even have a paypal account. She just did the guest checkout. She spent ages on the phone asking me if it was safe.
Seems you have lost it now and just making excuses. Enjoy your day in court. Cannot wait for the post where you tell us you took them to court and won £10,000 and the paid in cash before you had left the building.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

No it is not an x type, but yes it has been confirmed for me that the outer sills are not structural so end of story. In terms of sill the mot tester will fail it unless he can confirm the sill corrosion hasn't affected the inner seals, but this requires them to remove parts which they are not allowed to do. Much the same as an mot tester failing brake pads for being below 1.6mm, even though they cannot remove them and measure them on digital calipers.0 -

Going on your comments I really hope for your benefit that no one makes any questionable purchase on your account, as YOU will be liable unless you are listed as a business seller.0
