I totally agree with you KatyKat - after all isn't saving money what this site is supposed to be about. We have been experiencing problems with Orange recently while trying to obtain a replacement phone. They have been a nightmare, but you have to keep at them or they think you're just going to go away. I wish you luck in your endeavours with them - the individual should stand up to these big companies otherwise they continue trying to try getting away with these things. Like you say every £10 adds up.
  • i also have the same problem with orange

my case is i had apply usb modem broadband, the 1st mth bill coming shown is ok but the 2nd bill shown that i had over usage n u know how much is it not a tenner is nearly to £500. Due to this case, i had phone out to orange n explain my situation to them, from beginning they say will transfer to the appropriate departmentn put me on hold. what happen next, wait alredy 20mins still no answer n i hang up n call again, the same thing they put me on hold n this time after around 15mins, the line cut off automatic. i m tired waiting for nothing n had to pay on the onhold mins calling to orange n make decision call again tomorow.

finally tomorow they had answer n promise will find the solution n give me a call back the next day, not received any call from them so i phone up again n they reply that they cant do anything else n require me to pay the whole cost. That 's definately noisent since i doesnt use that much usage, nearly £500 of 36G usage, impossible.

friends had advice me to CAB citizen advice bareau n they will act on behalf of me so make out my mind appointment CAB. the staff is friendly n phone orange up for several time, they reply back will send technical team to find out the data usage n reply back, after 2 weeks no result, went to CAB call to orange, reply back also discussing on the same problem, hanging around delaying n already take around 2mths

Another 2-3mth is CAB requesting the data usage report, orange had promise to send out but i had wait 15days still not received anythings n back to CAB, orange try to delay that is the technical department didnt received any letter requesting the data usage report n as a result i write letter send by recorded delivery, also no reply(15days). went to CAB, orange reply not received any letter but i had prove signature from royal mail is save received, there s no point hanging around n CAB fax directly to the orange n requesting report send directly to CAB. finally received after 1 week, n i bring home check out the whole report, n mostly found out is 24hrs usage which is unreasonable since most of the times i m not at home n out, most of the out times i had witness n record prove not using the net.

As a result back to CAB n phone orange again, they again promise will send technical team contact me for investigating the problem. result is no one else contact me n u know what i receive the debt collection agensi the following days.

went to CAB-orange conversation n orange reply that the person incharge is off, they dont know about the case before had to wait again till orange reply back to CAB n CAB reply back to me. They put on hold for 1mth to the debt agensi in order for the technical investigation ariive.

unfortunately, no reply waiting for 1 mth then i come to CAB n CAB call orange n orange reply that the person incharge had resign n left no record on everything contact between CAB-orange conversation for the half years process, orange also promise will send technical team again but again no one turn out.

Till now, i really frustrated with the case n dont wanna be bother again with this case.

In the whole case, orange seem isnt resposibility to their client, not customer focus, making out execuses n try to delaying, having their internal problem not solve, technical failure ... ... etc all this isnt my problem n is their own internal problem, they fail to solve out n just keep chasing me to pay the debt which isnt belong to me. Can someone else give me some legal advice against my right.

Whenever I take out a new Orange contract (through cashbacks) - and there have been quite a few! As soon as I get connected I call Orange. I ask them to take off itemised billing (which is currently £1.50 per month) and I ask if there are any other "extras" on the account. There is usually at least one which is free for say 1 or 2 months then you pay.

I get them to take them all off and only pay the basic fee.

Works for me, and I have mentioned this before on here suggesting others do the same.

    Hope this helps.
I am NOT a mortgage & insurance adviser - or anything to do with finance, that was put on by the new system I dont know why?!
