Excel PCN NTK - Now a Default CCJ

I think that my case will end up in court if I don't pay up. I do hope though that Sir Greg Knight gets his PMB through and the days of these companies using the most minor issues as a licence to print money will end. I realise that they should be some kind of system otherwise it would be a free for all but all they seem to say is that their terms and conditions were displayed so suck it up. The charge is excessive and decided by a supreme court judge who probably spends that much on a bottle of wine.

I pity the adjudicator who gets this case.
We don't... 'adjudicator' my bum!
They are anonymous and this 'service' is supplied on behalf of the IPC, the Trade Body for the other side, who (until recently) shared Directors with...Gladstones Solicitors. The very firm who will be working for the PPC to sue you after you inevitably lose at IAS.
Luckily, Gladstones muck up so many small claims in their rush to court x thousands, that (with help from here from start to finish) 99% of posters have won at their hearing. We can recall ONE case lost, only one here, in a year, counting all fully MSE forum assisted defences/witness statements/evidence cases where the OPs stuck around and saw it through.
And there have been well over a hundred assisted like that in a year. You can't get better odds than here on MSE.
By contrast, the likelihood of winning without any assistance throughout, is less than 50% according to bargepole's figures.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Just remember that members of the IPC/IAS are known
financial terrorists hence they reject appeals.
The next step up is the IPC who collect all the financial
terrorists together and pretend to the public that they
are independent but to protect their members, they reject appeals,
The mastermind of this huge UK financial terrorist group is indeed
Gladstones solicitors who in turn have hoodwinked the government
into thinking they are genuine which we all know is a joke0 -
When I get my decision from IAS I will post the details on my original post or a new post. I think I have made a pigs ear of the appeal. I only have a very basic understanding of the law relating to parking so if I go to court I have to be sure that I can handle it. I am not a young person.

Nor are most of the experts on this forum; most of the good guys & gals here and on pepipoo forum are the wrong side of 50, believe me!
But loads of posters who are also not in the first flush of youth, win at their hearing with our help.
No risk, win or lose, worst case is you'd pay in the end if the Judge said so! Big deal, no huge costs. No CCJ, no sitting on the norty step, no need to argue in legalese. Small claims is for ordinary people to resolve a dispute and here, most win.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread, but nearly 2 years have passed and I never received any kind response to my letter to Excel in post 17 or any further correspondence of any kind.
I'm due to move house soon, I know the general advice is to let the PPC know but given the lack of any kind of correspondence, from Excel or debt collectors, I'm inclined to stay quiet on the matter.

If I were you, I would ensure that you update your address with them. They have 6 years in which they can chase you for the alleged debt. I was in a similar situation where I spent a year playing letter tennis with Excel and BWLegal and they eventually went quiet beginning of 2017. Then at the end of 2018 they filed a court claim against me. I defended that two days ago in court and won. Had I moved house during the period they were quiet, and not told them, I may well be facing a default judgement right now that I would be completely unaware of, and an impending CCJ!1

Resurrecting this thread as I've just received notification from CreditKarma of a new CCJ appearing on my file for £185. Can't find out more details as the Northants CC is closed, but my guess is it's for this PCN.
I haven't received any correspondence from Excel following my letter to them here:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/72866134/#Comment_72866134
I subsequently moved house (twice) and have active mail forwarding in place - my assumption being is a typo from them on my first name caused any mail from them or the County Court Business Centre to not be forwarded.
The date of the CCJ is 30 July, I guess I ever need to pay it or apply for a set-aside (and pay the £255 fee?). If I take the latter option do I get the £255 back?
Thanks
Abe

If you persuade the court of the reason to do so. You will have seen some threads in ccj by now I guess?
sure you were told to update THEM with your address? That advice is on every thread.
