Ebuyer claiming laptop not returned - refusing refund. I am being scammed!

I will look to do so, and hopefully can have confirmation produced of the weight, but Ebuyer arranged the pickup and I don't have any reference for the collection. The Ebuyer CSA isn't sharing this info with me. I'll see what I can do.0

The courier was definitely legitimate as I got out of bed and came downstairs just as he left and recognised him as the same driver who made the delivery.0

Was it you (rather than your Mother) who bought the item from Ebuyer (albeit using her card)?
If so then I suspect legal action may be your only option. Furthermore I can see it being a difficult case to win if it is just your (and your Father's) word against Ebuyer. Was your Father given any receipt, showing the item's weight, when the Laptop was collected?
Correct, but I don't see why she can't act on my behalf in this case. She is happy (well not happy but you know what I mean) to do so.0 -
I am considering the possibility the Yodel driver acted maliciously here and that the weighing of the item was just for show. In this event, it really would be my word against theirs. I will get in touch with Yodel tomorrow, but if I don't have any success what should be my next step?0

Your Mother is entitled to pay on your behalf and that does not affect your legal rights against the seller. You can sue the seller (you don't need to involve your Mother) if you believe the seller is not providing a refund you are due.
The only relevance of the fact your Mother paid is that it means you cannot hold the credit card company liable. (In certain circumstances you can hold a credit card company liable for problems with a purchase but only if the credit card used was that of the purchaser. However if you didn't know about this right then it doesn't really matter that you don't have it in the circumstances of this purchase.)
For what it is worth I greatly sympathise with your predicament.0 -
I don't know how to start a new post but this has happened to me. What would everybody else do?
I ordered 4 items from Argos. A foot stool, bed, mattress and a table. The footstool and bed were supposed to come last Friday only the footstool arrived is Yodel. Rang Argos and they said it was a failed delivery they'd send the bed the next day. Saturday another footstool arrives. Rang again and they arranged to collect extra footstool and deliver bed today as the mattress and table were coming. And said they'd send me a £10 voucher for wasting 3 days waiting for one order. Generous as always.
Monday get a text off Argos saying your delivery is coming with yodel so I ring them mad because I'm in work 2-10. They said it was an error and nothing was being delivered. Get home from work and there is a bed in the yard haha. They've now delivered another bed today.
As Argos said that order didn't exist and obviously they've already messed me about loads wasting 3 days waiting for one order would anybody else return the extra bed to a store and say it's unsuitable? I've been honest with them and I'm still sat in now waiting for the footstool to be collected and no £10 voucher yet. Thank you0 -
OP here. Got a full money refund from Ebuyer, having spoken to their complaints handler by using MSE's resolver tool. After a bit of back and forth, she said, 'We have investigated this with Yodel and they have allowed us to submit a claim.' No idea what this implies in terms of who the fault is with, but honestly don't care - just happy just action has been taken.0
