Who did you speak to and who cancelled it, Park with Ease?
I would advise you get the cancellation confirmation in writing (letter or email) directly from Park with Ease ... without that it is never really cancelled (or at least you have no proof it was) and could re-materialize at some point in the future. Don't know what Park with Ease are like but it has been known with other PPC's.

Yes it was with Park with Ease and you're absolutely right I do need to do that. I didn't even think at that moment in time as it was so unexpected for it to be cancelled! I did ask for the name of the lady I spoke to so will try asking for her tomorrow as they are closed now. Thank you for that!

Well done OP, what a relief (and a rarity in the private parking universe).

Do as safarmuk says and email them to confirm what was said, and ask for their confirmation in writing that it has been cancelled.

    I am a lawyer btw :)

Yep will be doing that tomorrow hopefully without any further problems!

No surprise there then! You would laugh at the fact that the irony to this whole situation is that I'm currently a law student!! This has certainly scared me a little bit! :rotfl:

Youi may want to look into the Data protection act and how that impacts your case.
In order to obtain and process your data PPCs must have good cause to do so based on accurate information.
If the source of the information, such as ANPR cameras is in any way inaccurate and/or flawed then it could be argued that the parking company has no just cause to access and process data from the DVLA, and any request for data relating to that vehicles registered keeper has been obtained without just cause, putting the PPC in breach of their contract with the DVLA (keeper on day of event) and the Data protection act.
Local authorities are forbidden from using ANPR devices in their car parks due to the inherent flaws in such systems, why are PPCs allowed to continue to use the same flawed systems?

There is also a Equality act aspect as well, where a person requiring extra time is not accommodated, or is required to jump through extra hoops that able bodied people are not, such as registering their vehicle with customer services.

Good procedure, drafting and advocacy practice then!
