EA is not responsive

Options
Friday morning we put our final offer on a property. And the dispute is 5k. I talked to EA, kindly asked him to inform us until the end of the day.

No response until now. Is this normal?or kind of tactic?? I am thinking of sending a sarcastic email.

In the case of negative response, thinking to complain about him. Ftb here, and getting agressive , big money big decision big milestone for us.. I also didnt like his style during negotiations.

Ps. House asking price 575k

Why not give the agent a call this morning? He may have been busy Friday afternoon & it could have genuinley slipped his mind. Don't see the need for getting agressive.

It may be that the EA did not have any response from their vendor to give you until now.

They would only have been able to give you a response by the end of play Friday if they had received one from the seller.

Taking the weekend to think about it is hardly unusual. it is likely that it's a big money, big decision milestone for the seller too.

Not sure that sending sarcastic emails is going to help your chances of securing the purchase.

If you're getting angry at this stage, over something like this, g*d help you as the purchase progresses!

If the vendor has not decided yet (it's big money big decision big milestone for them!), what can the EA do? Just wait for the vendor surely?

Or there may be any number of other reasonable explanations.

When dealing in property you need to learn patience, as wellas to see things from the other side.

    it's not all about you!

It's not dispute it's negotiation. Your offer holds no more weight than the next persons. They can sell to who they wish.

And if i were the vendor i wouldn't appreciate the aggressive attitude.
  • He told me that he was definitely going to inform me during friday. On the other hand he could have called me and informed that the vendor needs time to think. That would be fair enough.

Anyway as you mentioned sending an email would not help at all.

    Thank you
  • I think you are getting my point wrong. I am not saying this is not a big decision for vendor. The problem is not to be informed. Anyway It seems my approach to business is different from yours.

Some EA's have extensive shares in salt.

Drop in, call them. Either is better than an email. Much less an entitled aggressive one.

:) as a person, I am sth impatient and would like to be informed, as a matter of business promises should be kept, might be side effects of corporate life... I was thinking of pulling out the offer and putting an offer on another house which is similar and near. anyway, he called by noon and informed for the positive result. Fortunately thinking of next steps now.

I bought three times sold once, all were less than a week. but here is England, things are different in terms of property process.

Indeed they are - you need to manage both your expectations and your attitude and stop trying to treat this as a pure business transaction - there too much emotion and unknowns from both parties (plus a number of other interested parties in the middle) to think you have any control over this.
