without a shadow of doubt being at my allotment! It costs me £12 a year and for most other things I get free or as low cost as possible. I have a budget of £100 this year, I've spent £65 but invested in a collection of raspberry canes and loads of bulbs (almost 50% of what I have spent) & they will keep going for years to come :) We will reap much more than £100 back in produce. Last year was my first year I spent £180 as didn't have tools and other bits and produced £380 worth of produce despite only managing to cultivate a small area. This year I have dug over the whole site :) Gosh I can be there for hours and despite feeling physically tired I feel so invigorated!

other than that I'm trying to get back into reading - the internet kills attention span! Going for a lovely woodland walk, laying on the beach in the summer, playing with my little girl, watching a good film or box set. time spent with friends and family
That's amazing! I always wanted an allotment, but am not fit enough now :(

Sitting with cat on knee, indoors or out depending on the weather, reading - a book, a Kindle or browsing on my tablet, cuppa to hand and I'm a happy bunny. :j:j

I retired at the end of last month, with about 32 months to state pension age, and a very small occupational pension which I'm very grateful for, and savings I need to conserve as much as possible..

I'm getting such a lot of enjoyment out of frugalising further my food, whilst eating healthily, and using every last item up in fridge, freezer and store cupboard. Old Style is such a help with this and this is a kind and friendly part of the MSE forum. We relax where we feel most at home, and that's Old Style for me. :T:T
