Cup of tea and a book by a favourite author - either bought online , library or charity shop.

without a shadow of doubt being at my allotment! It costs me £12 a year and for most other things I get free or as low cost as possible. I have a budget of £100 this year, I've spent £65 but invested in a collection of raspberry canes and loads of bulbs (almost 50% of what I have spent) & they will keep going for years to come
We will reap much more than £100 back in produce. Last year was my first year I spent £180 as didn't have tools and other bits and produced £380 worth of produce despite only managing to cultivate a small area. This year I have dug over the whole site
Gosh I can be there for hours and despite feeling physically tired I feel so invigorated!
other than that I'm trying to get back into reading - the internet kills attention span! Going for a lovely woodland walk, laying on the beach in the summer, playing with my little girl, watching a good film or box set. time spent with friends and familyDF as at 30/12/16

Reading a good book.
And I've just started doing jigsaws since our local Air Ambulance charity shop are selling them 2 for £1.00.
I have to take a timer into the spare room with me because the time just flies when I get engrossed.0 -
For me its my first love which is reading I can't honestly remember a time when I didn't have a book to read.My late Mum taught me to read before I went to school as she did all of her children. I read when I get up,and before I go to bed and often during the day
I am a real 'bookworm'
My late OH used to say even when I read the paper I would read everything it it
My hearing is not too good at times ,but I can cope with that ,but to me losing my eyesight would be devastating as it would limit my ability to read virtually anything
To sit with a book and become immersed into the story is fantastic and a good book will take you away from the most dire things in your life.Writing comes a hot second place though:):)

Going for a walk along the lanes and footpaths or beside the river, with or without a canine companion and being in the garden sitting on the home made bench (leftover railway sleepers from building a pond years ago) leaning against a warm brick wall with a cup of coffee either is heaven!0

slobbing on the couch with a load of catch ups to watch on my sky planner
, cooking, reading, enjoying a nice glass of chilled white or two
sitting in the sun in my garden, holidays that involve a pool and a free bar, spending time with good friends
Never had much of a problem relaxing lol0 -
On my own? A good book. Any time, any place, anywhere - I was wandering through Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice happily whilst around me folk were sweating waiting to see the oncologist. I'd an appointment too, but was hiking in muddy petticoats rather than jitter.
With the brood? I love beach time, but they're not so keen & anyway it's a drive & a chip lunch so not that MS. Usually gardening - digging, weeding, planting, & of course harvesting is Always Popular. And in truly foul weather, hunkering together & rewatching 'Firefly'.0 -
When the children were little, my haven of calm and relaxation was to take a glass of red wine and a cup of black coffee and drink them while I soaked in the bath with the door locked. That was the important bit.No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0
