    I've been Money Tipped!
£1500 is entry level mountain bike money nowadays!

Yet my £500 Voodoo has just done 1000 canal towpath miles since September.

OP I have a diesel that we've had since almost new. Now at 85,000 miles it's starting to cost me serious money, (timing belt, springs, brake issues, electrical issues, (well it is a Renault), clutch). However, under the 30 day guarantee I'd expect the place selling it to honour that.

The only one of those I'd expect to be honoured under ANY warranty is the electrical issues.

    Clutch is wear.
Brakes and belts are service consumables.
    Springs are road damage.

Hi… I'm wondering if anyone can give me guidance, as im absolutely lost at what I can do. At the beginning of January, I purchased a car from a used car dealer. I paid £1,500 for it. After a few weeks, I noticed the clutch was making a noise, and a small clunk could be heard from the rear.

    Thank you
OP then says in a later post

"After the first week, I had the clutch noise, however I couldn't go back till the second week, as it was the new year, n the garage was closed"

So the car was bought last year and you have had it for 4 months now.

Cant see most pay that for entry but to each their own.

And no I dont think £1500 buys a new car but older with a few thing to do ( not major )

  • I've never spent more than £1,000 on a car in my life. still got one I paid £1,000 for over ten years ago and I've put 80K miles on it. Plus another I bought over 5 years ago for £750 and have put 50K miles on it. There are plenty of good cars around for under £1K so long as you don't pick a model popular with new drivers as they are poor value.
