Aqua 0% Balance Transfer, not told the credit limit.

Hiya.

Is this usual? I'm trying to clear a 1.5k balance on a vanquis card, I've never had a late payment, never gone over the limit and I'm paying two times the minimum balance but it's just making a dent. I checked the credit club, and Aqua have offered 0% for 6 months, 34.9 after, which is lower than Vanquis and I can clear this all in 6 months, but they have not told me what the credit limit is. Has anyone had an Aqua card with an opening balance higher than £300?

Many thanks.

I dont think I was told limit when accepted online for aqua-thogh slighlty higher apr than the advetised rate.
I got initial 300 a few months ago.
Only used for rare techy purchase-havent cleared each month though 25 dd setup.
Reasonable happy with ths card though think its my highest apr +40%

Are you saying you have a credit card balance that you are paying over 40% APR on? If so, WHY? Can you not clear the balance?

My APR came through on the download/contract, it's 0% for 6 months (for a balance transfer) and 34.9% after but it should be clear in 6 months (fingers crossed), but it didn't tell me the limit anywhere.

The APR isn't as high as Vanquis.

Think mine was around £1200 might have been £1500...used it for few months and just the other day its jumped to £3100,to clarify that's the offered limit...not balance.

Wayyyyy to high and seriously hard to pay that limit off at 34.9% ye gods.

Why do you feel the need to spend it all?

I dont and havent...yet others will and can be pretty sure they will struggle to pay it back at that %.

The balance on my Aqua is in the process of being Transferred to Long term 0% balance card.

I just want enough to clear the balance on my other card off. The interest rate's a lot higher than this so even 34.9% (if I can't clear it in 6 months) will be a saving. I owe 1.5k (limit is 2.5k, I've never used it all), I'm paying £160 a month (the min is £90) and I'm still not making much of a dent. I earn 1.8k a month, but I'll end up using it every month to live off/pay the rent and bills if I clear it all.

That's good. The higher limit gives you more flexibility and means you can stay well under your limit.

Some people will always find a way to spend more than they can afford though. However, to give them their due, aqua are better at trying to identify those customers than they used to be, and not applying those sorts of increases.
