Whirlwind morning died down...friends gone :( two loads of washing on the line and a third in the machine. The first load is almost dry as it's windy and sunny.

I'm so sorry to see them go, makes me realise that I miss them. They are a great family and do so much together. At least they have booked for next year.

Now I'll have a little down time as the last load whirrs round. I'll get it out and then take bags of rubbish to the tip and do a little shopping before the next lot arrive. They won't be here before 3 o'clock as that's when their cottage will be ready.

Our visitors have gone as well Gers, we had a lovely time with them. We went to Fountain's Abbey yesterday ad ended up walking 7 miles - a bit further than intended.

    Afternoon all,

twas chilly first thing but warmed up pretty fast as the morning progressed.

Hubby had a problem with his leg last night and he is walking around with his walking stick. Went for a little wander round the garden centre where he bought a couple of strawberry plants and an Easter cactus to replace the one i watered to death.... Killing it with kindness i choose to call it but i will try and do better with the new one.

Had a wander round the newly set up aquatic centre too. Reminds me of the times when the kids were little and we were tropical fish 'mad'.

Youngest still hasnt got his car back from the dealership.... he doesnt seem that concerned though as he is using a brand new courtesy car and putting the miles on that instead.

In the house now for the day, hubby is pottering around in his shed. Ive lost him now for the rest of the day.:D

Onwards and forwards with tropical fish on the brain,

    have a good day all.

Karcher sending coping vibes your way, mate. You seem so down, and I don't like to think of my friends suffering. I wish there was something concrete I could do to help.

a topping of potato pastry. I made it for the first time a few weeks ago and everyone loved it.
That sounds interesting - how do you make it, pretty please? :o
I feel we're getting into a bit of a rut food-wise, and I'd like us to get out of it, so any inspiring ideas, not spicy, and suitable for vegetarians, are always welcome.;)

I wish mine would go and potter in the shed for a couple of hours! Don't get me wrong, I love him to bits, but ours is such a tiny bungalow that there's nowhere really to go for a bit of alone-time; and having him here and constantly with me 24/7 is just a tad overwhelming, iyswim. Even if I get him to do something in the bedroom or the storage room (aka the 2nd bedroom), he's back every 5 minutes to give me a progress report! :D He's just now informed me he's going to polish his shoes..... um.... ok, great, good show and all that, but why do I need to be told? :rotfl: Bless him, he means well, and he has he patience of a saint, because I'm not the easiest person to live with, but sometimes......:wall:
Anyways, I'm telling it here because I wouldn't for the world hurt his feelings by telling him. :o

    Afternoon all
It's turned out to be a lovely day after a cloudy start. Picked up DGS for a overnight stay and called in A*di for some supplies of sweeties ready to watch Dr Who later ( DGS and DH are fans ) . Hoping the skies will remain clear tonight as there is supposed to be a meteor shower later which we would like to watch.
DGS has requested two hot dogs, chips and a spare sausage for tea ( I'm sure he has hollow legs :rotfl:)
I've managed to do 4 loads of washing including the bed clothes, in between keeping the DGS fed !
DH had to wash the car again, as a horse wandered across our road this morning, did his business and someone drove through it. Unfortunately it went all up the passenger side of our car :(. Is that supposed to be lucky ?
Well off to check if the washing is dry.
    Enjoy your evening everybody

My second lot of visitors arrived too early  for their cottage. I had the third load in the washing machine still when they rang from 12 miles away from the town - I live eight miles away the other way! So I drove to the tip with the rubbish, forgot one bag, and met them in town to lead them here.

I've now deposited them at their cottage so unpack and settle in. I've put the third load on the line in the hope that it all dries as well as the first two, which I've brought in. We're 'meeting' up about 8'ish for a glass of wine :o but I won't be staying long, I'm weary but happyt

LW I feel your pain, when DH was forcibly housebound for 3 months before Christmas I began to feel quite stressed. I like to have time to myself and don't mind at all not seeing people for several days, much to the horror of my sis-i-l who hates being alone and has a stuffed calendar to prove it.

Regarding veggie cooking, have a look at Anna Jones' books there are some super recipes and she also has tables with ideas on combining ingredients which are really good.

She also has a website with recipes on - I just googled it so I've not checked it out.

Such kind words LW :A .....it made me cry :o..

Yesterday I did my best to relax but I'm one of those who cannot escape their worries or put them out of my mind to deal with later :( and as a result I didn't sleep well.

Today, I worked this morning then have been cleaning for the last 4 hours but am now sat down with a cup of tea :). Whilst I hate cleaning I enjoy having a clean and tidy space to live in so tonight, after a shower I'll be sitting with my feet up and feel satisfied tomorrow can be a 'I'm do nothing' day :)

Going to watch the football I think, not sure what's for dinner yet, I shall raid the freezer later.

Take care and enjoy your Saturday evening one and all...and thanks again :A xx

I know what you mean LW, my beloved likes a five minute warning before a meal is ready, for the last two weeks we've been less than six feet apart, he is watching me cook, how can he not know I'm about to serve a meal!
I'm passing him the cutlery and condiments for gawd sakes.
    Chin up, Titus out.
