Contesting end of lease charges or not?

Hi
I returned my Citroen lease car 10 weeks ago and have only just received a bill for £500. Are they within a reasonable time period?
Also there was some damage to the car (a scratch) that is definitely chargeable by about £200 from the estimates I had.
I disputed the condition report (as recommended by the inspector at the time!!)
In your experience is it best to challenge and try to get a reduction or just pay up?
Thanks

If the charges are fair then pay up if not then dont. If you estimated the repair at £200 then you should have done it. They probably wont fix it but estimate how much its likely to knock off the value at auction.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

It's always worth challenging them. Do a google search for the BVRLA guidelines on what is acceptable when returning a lease vehicle.0

I presume you took photos of the car at the point of handing it back?0

HI I am new to the forum but have a similar question. I have been charged over 300 pounds for poor quality repairs done through my car insurance companies preferred repairer when I had a no fault accident.
When the car was collected the guy examined the car and then signed off as no damage and actually said it was in immaculate condition. I had recently had it valeted so knew it was in good nick.
My hubby signed the paperwork and it stated no external conditions.
A second report was sent saying there were dents and damage to the bumper, as well as poor quality repairs to the front wing. There are other discrepancies such as lack of tools in the boot and a difference on the depth of the unused spare tyre all of which were signed as there on collection. I disputed this and they removed the costs for the dents as they could have been done in storage, but still insist the repair is poor quality. The photographs they sent have reflections from telegraph poles etc on them and to be honest the picture could be smears from the waxing on the valet, but as they sold the car as soon as it was surrendered I cannot check it.
My insurance company (who I am no longer with) are saying they want evidence of loss of money but I am being pressured to pay this as the contract for the car was with me not the insurance company.
Where do I stand?0
