Plush and I were discussing AL DEE last night and the topic of online grocery shopping / home delivery came up...
I contacted 'em via e-mail about it...

Received a response from AL DEE;
They have no plans at present to introduce online grocery shopping / home delivery but, my comments have been passed on to the appropriate department...
SO, if we want online grocery shopping / home delivery from AL DEE put the necessary pressure on 'em to do it by contacting them and telling 'em...
Go to their website and contact them via e-mail to customer services.
They've just won an award for customer services, so they'll be wanting to maintain that high profile won't they?

Bear in mind though folks such a change would have a huge impact on them; logistics, warehousing, services etc. It is a BIG undertaking and if they were to do it, it will take time to set it up IF they decide it is worth their while to do so.
Sorry, project management head on there but you know what I mean...
Right, back to what I'm supposed to be doing now

Hi uncanny - I get my big monthly shop online because it suits me as a I don't drive. But I would love to swap from Tesco to Aldi if they switched to online deliveries and kept their low prices. However, I did see a programme a few months ago that said the big supermarkets that offer online deliveries lose money on this service, but none of them will drop it unless the others do as customers expect it now! If Aldi did online deliveries I think their prices would rise as their business model is a no frills based services, plus they seem to hold their own against the big supermarkets already and are probably confident in their customer base. Still wouldn't it be great if they did.

Took Mr M forever to concede to online shopping. It would be fab if Al Dee did the same - as long as their prices remained low though. They do online for wine and other things, so why not food.

i love your baking. i too cannot get bread to rise!!! doesn't matter what sort of bread flour/yeast etc i use it just doesn't happen.

Evening folks
Today has been a good day.

I got a few things that I needed for the wee beastie and me, new helmet, gloves and splash/mudguards
Mate is happy cos now I can give him back his spare lid lol

Also, my lovely wee mammy has offered to help buy me a car

She knows I've been saving every spare bit o cash that I get and she told me last night when I called that she wanted to help me cos I'd been so good helping her... and asked me how much I had saved and how much I needed.
I started to cry...
as I thanked her and told her that I had enough saved to maybe cover the insurance so far and that was all...
She said she would help with the rest, how much would I need...
I said I could get something decent for about £2k...
She said, OK find one you like and let me know...

Thanks mam, I'll pay you back... somehow...
No, she said, no you won't son and you don't have to... you can take me my messages and for a wee run now and again ok?

Thank God for wee mammys...
