Been asked to think about Banking Compensation

A bit off-topic I know but yes, that was a mistake, why would you go to a branch to open a regular saver account?! I've only ever opened them online where, as an existing current account holder, it takes no more than a couple of minutes....
Until fairly recently it wasn't possible to open Santander's Regular Saver online. Phone or branch applications only;)0 -

And branch applications by appointment which were only available about a week away and at the most inconvenient time - just for Santander staff to do an opening process which should only take a couple of minutes.
I was told on one occasion the appointment was needed because all the T&C's had to be read out to the customer - when I suggested to the advisor that I was able to read and if they gave me the T&C's I could sit quietly in the corner and read them before they then spent 2 minutes opening the account I was told "The system won't let us do that" - Ahhh... the CS default response

Ask for £500 then settle for about £300 or so!0

Settlement was actually £200 which on top of the £175 I already received was in my view a reasonable offer.
The bank ignored emails I sent in, there was a culture of hanging up on the customer, generic emails were sent out which were irrelevant and my accounts both current and regular saver were all setup incorrectly by the bank.0 -

Which bank? Spill the beans
If I was a betting man (or an amateur detectiveKernel_Sanders wrote: »Yeah but which bank?
) I'd say Nationwide (strictly speaking a building society not a bank but let's let that pass)!

Would also make sense from the "how much compensation would you like, Sir" experience."In the future, everyone will be rich for 15 minutes"0 -
