Can I avail of a Second Bank Switching Reward?

Hi All,

I have recently switched to Nationwide via a referral scheme which will return £100, I also have a Halifax account that I want to keep as it pays a £3 per month reward. However I have an old Bank of Ireland account that has two direct debits paying from it, are there are switches available that reward if I used my Bank of Ireland account?

Thanks in advance.

Try a switch into your Halifax account.. or you might try a search to find a few others.

I was told a few months ago (by Halifax both on 'phone & in branch) that I could not switch an other account into my existing Reward a/c to get the Switch bonus.

    From Halifax's own website:
    https://www.halifax.co.uk/bankaccounts/switch-to-halifax/
Use the Current Account Switch Service to switch into a new or existing Halifax Reward Current Account, Ultimate Reward Current Account (£15 monthly fee applies) or an existing Current Account if opened before the 3rd of December 2016 and close your old account held elsewhere. If you’ve received cashback for switching to us since January 2012 we’re sorry but you won’t get it again.

The phrase the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing applies to most of their branch staff and telephone banking team.

    Very true of Halifax sadly.

When I had a student account I walked in to their branch in Merry Hill and asked them to increase my overdraft. They told me categorically I would not be eligible for any increase in overdraft for at least 6 months.

I went to the food court, sat down and rang the customer service number - who gave me the increase I wanted straight away.

I should have gone back and asked why I was misadvised really.

I have three at the moment with an old account being displaced with the Nationwide account.

Keeping my Halifax due to the £3 per month.

Looking at switching my final account with two DD's in it.
