Unbelievable hassle chasing up Elec switch to E-On

I signed up to MSE Energy Club when my elec deal was coming to an end and was offered a seemingly better deal with E-On.
I agreed, filled in the stuff and got a confirmation from MSE Energy Club.
22 days later, I hadn't heard anything from E-On & my pre-existing supplier transferred me to their sucker tariff because I hadn't re-signed.
I went online to E-On's website; the online chat was either a robot or...anyway, totally useless & couldn't understand me. I found a phone number but that was aimed at people wanting roof insulation; the guy said he would transfer me & ...then cut me off.
I went to E-On's Facebook page & messaged them; got a first reply after about 15 minutes and was asked for ID, d-o-b, postcode etc etc. I waited half hour or more & nothing then I sent another message asking, 'Any progress' to which I got a fairly quick reply that they had no record of my application & I should start the process again.
This palaver had occupied a lot of my attention (while doing other things online) between 10am & 1pm. I was well fed-up to put it politely.
1.15pm & the postman dropped a E-On welcome pack through the letter box.
ARRRRGGGGGHHHH!!!!
