hi i get married in barbados next week and want to send the video recording over of it straight away.
is it possible to send it over as an email attachment so the other people can just click on it and it plays as the people i send it to wont be technically minded and anything more than a double click will leave them stumped.
any advice would be greatly appreciated
cheers damo

You could, but it'd be a massive e-mail, and best to avoid, unless it is a small snippet cut down.
Better to use a hosting site to share the file, YouTube would be a bit public, but you can share videos with other social networking sites, someone will have a better solution!0 -
cheers for the reply does anyone have any suggestions for a hosting site video is probably gonna be about 30mins

30 mins will be a pretty large file, it depends on the size, but I'd say pretty big, don't even think about e-mailing!
I've just noticed that http://photobucket.com/ offers this service, it's an old name in file/photo sharing.0 -
have just looked at some older threads and had just decided on photobucket.
does it give me a link to send around to other people as an email link

Don't know if this is any use, but friends of mine got married and collected everyones digital photos via email, arranged an album and put it on

You then email the link to friends and family,
I notice there is now a facility for video.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
Both Picasa and Photobucket can give you a private link just to share with friends/family, rather than posting "publically"0

2 things you'll need to think about though.
1 - it'll be a huge file and you'll need to upload it. Will you be able to upload it anywhere without there being a problem of such a big file?
2 - are there any restrictions on places like Photobucket for the amount of space you use?0 -
You can probably upload it to http://www.!!!!!!/
If it's a file larger than 300MB, you can use HJSplit; http://www.freebyte.com/hjsplit/ to enable you to create files of a suitable size before uploading to FileFactory.
The people to whom you send it can use HJSplit to recreate the file.0 -
did you miss the 'won't be technically minded' part there Donnie?

There's a link to upgrade from the basic YouSendIt account for 30 days. That way, you be able to upload up to 2GB files.
