The rodding points are usually outside and can be on a sewer run or a waste pipe run, the three pipes that the builder has installed inside are probably 4" sewer, one for WC, one for WHB and the third for the shower drain.

    Correct.

You will want the wade (shower gully) gully installed beside this third sewer pipe as close as is possible (will depend on how close it has been put to where the shower is going to allow for a fall incorporated into the floor) to limit the length of the pipe run, all good shower gullies will have a removable grill on them to allow for cleaning and possibly some small amount of rodding with wire which is why you want as small a pipe run inside as possible with that setup.

So will this gully be removable if I don't have a shower tray and just have vinyl?

I much prefer a tray with flush tiles or just tiled to give the shower a defined area where possible a screen especially if the splash area will get onto sink and toilet.

vinyl has that wetherspoons toilets feel about it.

Surprised this was not all thought about at the design stage especially the type of shower drain as that can impact the look a lot, round, rectangle/square or liniar.

No expert but does not the choice of shower area impact the design of the tanking?

This is what i don't understand either, any time I've done wetrooms the drainage is usually the most critical component in the design - with a wetroom you generally want a larger capacity or at least a larger trap to make sure all the water goes off the floor quickly enough.
The drains (or covers at least) are also usually specific to floor finishes. Maybe it's just an old school grate in the corner of the room?
Even with a vinyl finish there's usually a tanking membrane iirc - tiles look a million times better

I'm not having tiles for a number of reasons, basically I don't want them. They are not non-slip, and I have found some vinyl that is non-slip that I want.

I need to decide whether or not to have a tray, or just vinyl, but don't understand the different types of drain that will be fitted to the floor, and which ones are removeable to clear any blockages.

Yes, there will be a screen.

Tanking is all there and has been approved by BC. I really want more info about what sort of fitting is suitable for vinyl flooring.

If there's just a floor with a drain in it, you will require a tray for the shower, if it was going to be a true "wetroom" that would have been decided at the outset with all the appropriate falls formed in the floor and the drainage correctly specified...
Even most wetroom shower systems have an insert at floor level to be tiled over etc which forms the required falls and has the floor drain to allow the floor finish to be taken over it.
Tanking etc should all be decided as part of the system including the floor finish - also, building control will not have approved your tanking, their job is purely to check what is there complies with the regs, they don't offer any guarantees on appropriateness of quality of products/systems installed and they are not there to comment or "approve" quality of workmanship.

How can tanking be all there ,you've not even got a floor yet and you don't understand the drainage . Your chosen contractor also appears to lack the knowledge and detail to get it right and you appear to have zero knowledge

Your using a free flowing fibre screed that will just want to level itself , how on earth are you going to create the falls needed

It sounds like a right mess of a job

You sound quite hysterical, please calm down.

The council inspector has said the quality of the work is very nice. I'm just trying to understand the details.

It's very clear that you have little understanding of the details of the role of a council inspector.
It's not as simple as deciding if you want a tray or not after the thing has been built and the drainage already installed, wetrooms need to be properly considered at design stage, not post construction stage.

So how does your comment help now?

I have a concrete under-floor with a pipe for drainage for the shower, Separate pipes for WC and hand-basin.

The insulation needs to be installed as well as the top coat screed. I cannot turn the clock back, so please don't comment on what should have been done in the past. The floor still needs to be increased by 15cm to bring it up to the final level.

Does anyone have any constructive suggestions about how to move forward?

It does state on the drawings that the internal layout needs to be to LA satisfaction.
