Karcher - I hope you can revitalise yourself soon. The feelings you describe are exactly why I upped and 'retired' very suddenly in 2014. Sometimes work is just not worth it, however a break / holiday may shed a new light on it. The friend who is visiting me this week did the same (same employer as me) after holding out for two more years, now she looks, feels and behaves so much freer and younger. What held us both back was emotional ties to the organisation, sadly those ties weren't mutual!

My day has been quiet'ish again though I am really tired.

I went out early into town to get fresh rolls from the butcher and made myself a bacon roll whilst a wash was chugging away.

When they all emerged from bed I took everyone to the local church for a nosy as it's historical and then they all went off adventuring.

Just I was about to lie on the sofa a neighbour called with a lovely gift of a pot of tarragon so I've been out in the garden to plant it. Then I decided to cut the wet grass as the forecast was so dire for the next week, and then I decided to feed my roses some pellets which needed to be dug in a little and then watered. Two old rose bushes in the back garden and two new rose bushes in pots at the front door. Then I thought I should add some soil to my potato bags for no good reason, and lastly I cleaned out the bird bath / water bath because it needed it.

NOW I'm going to get rather more horizontal on the sofa. This lot of friends leave in the morning and the next lot (only two adults this time) arrive tomorrow late afternoon.
  • Aw KARCHER I wish there was something we could do or say that would help. It's rotten to feel at rock bottom and you have been feeling this way so long too ((HUGS)) xx

I got my store cupboard box for the caravan packed this afternoon, courtesy of my store cupboard here! Hope I haven't forgotten anything!

Have a nice evening folks. It's feet up watching snooker for me, with possibly a glass or two of vino. Well ok there is no "possibly" about it!! Take care all xx

Arrived in Mancland and the bungalow is gorgeous, my friend wants to move it to Kent to live in :) Spotlessly clean and wifi seems to be working well. Had two stops on the way up the motorway for coffee and loo breaks then came off and went across country, and stopped at Chapel-en-le-frith.

Where we found a wool shop with some nice wool, and an even nicer coffee and cake shop where we partook(be rude not to) called Kouross.Baklava and fresh cream scone and superb coffee sorted us both out, and June is just making dinner at the moment as we brought some cooked chilli packed in a box in the freezer bag so only have to reheat it and make the rice and we have fresh fruit and yogurt for pudding We are hoping to go to Bury Market tomorrow for a mooch round :) looked it up and its just under 20 miles away so not too far to travel. I am really looking forward to our foray into Manchester as well, possibly on Monday.
Hope you all have a great evening
    Cheers JackieO xx

Just back from a lovely holiday in Italy with dds and SIL. The sun and atmosphere really did me good and I feel much chirpier.

DD and SIL came over for a bite to eat tonight and I made a large cottage pie and added a tin of baked beans and sausage to the base which was very tasty.

Another dd is staying over tonight and doing a bit of bedroom painting in the morning while I am sorting out and emptying a few more boxes.

There will be four of us for Sunday lunch so I am going to look out a recipe for low calorie beef and ale pie with lots of green veg on the side and a topping of potato pastry. I made it for the first time a few weeks ago and everyone loved it.

I hope a chance to have some peace and quiet and maybe a nap will help. Thinking of you and crossing fingers for you.

    Hugs to all
