It is not like Corbyn didn't just sack three rather important MPs from their shadow posts for voting with their principles.I am just thinking out loud - nothing I say should be relied upon!
I do however reserve the right to be correct by accident.0 -

You think that the Tories are a cohesive force?Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -

As much as any political party is ever united. In the current circumstances to have open debate is healthy. As people in general need to understand the wider implications and effects of any decision. Not simply jump on a single policy bandwagon for this or that. I've always said there's no quick fixes. Even more so today this holds true. Sometimes politicians have to be the bad guys and make tough decisions. Not bow to public pressure.0 -
I don't think every MP in a party blindly thinking alike makes for a great government or a great opposition.
Politics today and what makes sense is more fluid than based on some Marxist or Capitalist tome.
A smart human and a smart government adapts and learns from others and itself.
If the conservatives learn fast, and adapt, they may survive.I am just thinking out loud - nothing I say should be relied upon!

For those saying that Labour is impotent, it would seem May doesn't agree with you:
https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/jul/09/may-to-invite-labour-to-help-create-policies-amid-tory-plot-to-oust-herTheresa May will move to bolster her precarious position in Downing Street with an unprecedented invitation to Labour to help her create policies for a post-Brexit Britain as she attempts to quell a Tory plot to replace her.'I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my father. Not screaming and terrified like his passengers.' (Bob Monkhouse).
Sky? Believe in better.

If May had the power some of you seem to think she has then she wouldn't give a monkey's whatever about Labour's thoughts.
If someone has good idea -why on earth would it be a bad idea to do it? It does not matter who has the idea surely, but if the idea is good.
e.g. trying to discourage smoking or enforcing seat belts for children and adults are pretty much universally seen as smart.
I don't think it changes the electability of an opposition party to take part - if anything it lifts it. If all they want to do is snipe and shout down - then maybe that is all they can do...I am just thinking out loud - nothing I say should be relied upon!

May wasn't trying to genuinely solicit ideas or advice - she was trying to sucker in the others so as to spread the blame when it all goes catastrophically wrong with Brexit.
None of the other parties should touch this 'offer' with a bargepole.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

Yet if they now don't suggest anything instead / extra - it is plain they have no ideas better than what is being done...or what many call BAU.I am just thinking out loud - nothing I say should be relied upon!

You are naive.....May is finished. She is just trying to shore up her position by appearing collegiate. If she'd had her huge majority she would have carried on with her narrow cabal of advisers, ignoring cabinet Govmt and consulting very few people.0 -

But Corbyn is a Brexiteer. The combined agreement on key issues makes the matter in effect non political. Provides the Uk with a united front against the EU. Corbyn loves the media limelight. What better way than actually work with May. To further his own personal ambitions.0
