Personally, I am tired of the sort of spin put out by people like Cameron and Bliar, which meanders around points and hides outright lies.
For me, Mrs May makes a refreshing change, perhaps because I prefer direct people rather than often meaningless advertising hype and similar, of the sort you also get in corporations.
Yes one whose negotiating tack is to show Junker that Clarke was right, she is a bloody difficult woman.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -

I think most people would agree, but Mrs May's meandering around points and answering different questions to those asked last Sunday are hardly a good example either.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. The EU is setting the tone......... How many toys are going to get thrown out of the pram. Judging by early comments a considerable amount. Suspect the UK's monetary contribution is going to be sorely missed.0 -
We will have to see how things pan about but If the Tories do much to help low paid workers I will be very surprised.I think....0

Yes, she messed up the points, but essentially her message was that they intend to reverse the proposed cuts and utilise the revenue elsewhere.I think....0 -
Funnily enough ending unskilled immigration from lower paid countries will improve the chances for the low paid. Remember when Carney thought unemployment of 7% might lead to wage driven inflation but was wrong because actually there were atill another 20m unemployed europeans holding down uk wages.0

I am sure you are right on the money. It remains to be seen what happens if the UK really is taking the negative approach portrayed in the press (not sure that this is true in practice). We might win this battle but if so at what cost to a good relationship with the EU? Will these EU leaders respect us afterwards? Or will they really did their heels in and make us suffer the consequences of our actions? Or is this all public posturing while both sides face up to the consequences and quietly produce a face saving compromise?Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment.
