    reality is, 76 seats are too close to call and therefore conservative could hold 390 seats

    doubtful. i think 345 -355 is the absolute best they can hope for, and 305 the lowest.

    It means the poll could be wrong.

    The swing suggests Cons did better in that area than the poll suggested they should

    One could argue that the so called educated middle / upper class did not have the leadership to galvanise the UK.

    i think any poll discrepancy may be due to the fact that postal votes were probably done 3 or 4 weeks ago...before the poor con campaign, and will flatter the cons

    That could be a very good point.

    The longer the campaign went on, the worse the Conservatives fared.
    Poor leadership imo.
