May Penny Pincher Challenge

Well so far today has been a NSD. There's a couple of quid in the change pot and pennies in the emergency jar. Bank account has been checked and I know roughly what we have left to see us through the next few weeks.
Have had the water off for most of the day as the builder has been in and changed the stopcock. So cleaning has not been productive. However, the washing machine and kettle are being cleaned and descaled as I type.
Whilst waiting for the water to come back on I went through the fridge freezer and have worked out I have approx 20 meals in there. This doesn't include what is in the chest freezer as there is currently a shower unit piled up in front of it and I don't want to break the glass. This does mean however, food spending in theory should be limited to packed lunch stuff for the kids, cat food and litter, bread and milk with some veggies.
Going to finish off the wine this afternoon. Then not buy any more until Friday - well that is the plan at least. Rain has put pay to the idea of the kids sowing the seeds, hopefully this will change.Onwards and upwards with the occasional kick up the butt required!

I've taken a look and installed a couple, but am thinking when I'm at work tomorrow I might create myself a little spreadsheet in my lunch break -that's if I get one!Onwards and upwards with the occasional kick up the butt required!

Well I didn't get a lunch break or an opportunity to play with some spreadsheets. However, I can declare another NSD. That makes a grand total of 1pt for today!
Will try harder tomorrow - promiseOnwards and upwards with the occasional kick up the butt required!

So today has been a mixed day.
The bad: didnt get to sleep till about 1am last night with my legs being awfully itchy which meant I had pepsi at work today and bought lunch from a shop instead of making my own so no NSD and the lunch has come out of my personal budget. So i m now on £25/£140 after spending a little extra at the cinema and buying myself a book to read at the weekend. However with having to wait for that to be delivered on saturday it means i wont go out and spend more money.
The good: Went to pick up bread and milk on my way home and got decent dates and didn't buy anything unneccesary whilst I was there. Now determined to stop wasting bread, even if that means french toast every sunday to use it up. Didnt buy a carrier bag and used my own back and at least i didnt buy a coffee from the machine.

Hey everyone I'm sorry I haven't been posting much
This week is proving to be a challenging one.
Tuesday I was running late for work and caught an UBER then lost my phone.
I've had some things to do at home and also I just wanted to snuggle with the MR as
I feel a bit under the weather with so much to do and going on at once and now with the added stress.
I have managed to rack up some points.
Won't claim the UBER as a spend since I needed to get to work & my boyfriend ordered another one to pick me & him up from work as I also didn't have any cash - my bus pass was on my phone (we work 5 mins around the corner from each other now) so it works itself out really.
1 NSD for Tuesday & Monday (2pts)
Brought lunch stuff in bulk (1pt)
Didn't buy Stop buying £3+ meal deals, sweets, magazines , drinks and coffee out Monday or Tuesday (2pts)
Leave card at home - Didn't have a card as I left it at my parents accidently after moving, mum posted it to me and i got it back today(2pts)
Turn off lights & plugs on things don’t need to use / aren’t using (3pts)
Checked bank account yesterday (1pt)
= 11 pts
Any progress is good progress!
I've been tracking my tasks on a google document that i've split into 3 pages...
1 page & table for monthly tasks
1 page for the 10 everyday tasks
1 page for self care tasks
I also included a page to jot down notes such as tasks for next month or how well something went or didn't go so well.
I'm trying not to spend too much this month as I need to buy a new phone & also I don't know how much our bills are going to be
Good Luck to everyone xHome Deposit: £100.61|BULSFund: £50.00|EmergencyFund: £89.76 | Retirement: 5.21| Xmas 17:£10.00 |July NSD:1 / 150 -
Got my 1st NSD today, managed not to buy a coffee, took my water bottle to work and had leftovers as lunch so 5 points. Need to get myself some more hayfever medicines but don't think i ll be counting them towards spends as they are a necessity really and I m saving the nhs money sorting it myself i suppose.0

Yesterday I got NSD number 2 so that's one point. Had to buy a leaving gift for a colleague today so bought medicines with my discount at work whilst I was at it, so spends are now at £34/140 rather than visit the city centre on my day off tommorow I m staying at home doing an assignment so hoping for NSD number 3. No coffees or carrier bags bought today so that's a total of three points.0
