Best Card For Overseas

Hi - Im going to the US in May and was wondering what card would be best to sue over there? Ive got a Nationwide debit card but Ive read I would be charged for withdrawing and for converting pounds into dollars. I dont ave a credit card.
Can anyone offer some advice on the best card to use? Are pre paid cards from travel agents widely used in the US and can they be used at cash points?

Avoid them, terrible value, your Nationwide card would cost you less. There's a link to 'Prepaid Travel Cards' in the above article.
