Abolition of roaming charges in EU this year?
Comments
-
Just been reading a Vodafone advert in a U.K./printed in Spain newspaper, it's for PAYG and mentions 150 UK mins or 100 mins roaming for a £10 bundle bought between 1st March and 14th June, so their PAYG customers aren't yet getting the same equal UK/EU minutes that their new contract customers get...
Note the specific mention of 14th June, the day before EU roaming is opened up.0 -

For some time, O2 PAYG (plain vanilla, no roaming bundle purchase) has had free to receive and 4p/min calls while roaming in the EU.
A friend in Spain uses an O2 PAYG SIM in a dual SIM phone, they are in Spain for several months at a time, it's great for their UK friends as they call the O2 number from their included mins, free all round!
I had looked at O2 along with others and was of the impression their charges were higher than this, and although I had a bit of a problem finding the information on O2's site, I eventually confirmed that they do charge only 4p/min for roaming. I can't find any reference to any restrictions - but will continue to check and verify if there are any.Frozen_up_north wrote: »We visit Spain a lot and Three seem a bit vague on their T&Cs, I asked specifically about our use and was told that provided we used the phone in the U.K. between overseas trips the "clock" would be reset, so it might not be 60 days in 365, just a limit of 60 consecutive days.
Let's hope for better clarity in all T&Cs
Their terms say -
"Feel At Home is intended for UK residents visiting one of the destinations for short trips like holidays or business trips. This means that there are some restrictions regarding how you use Feel At Home.
If you roam exclusively in a Feel At Home destination for any 2 complete months in a rolling 12 month period, we may suspend international roaming on your account, which means you’ll no longer be able to use your device or allowances abroad. We’d let you know if this were likely to happen first. If you spend a full month abroad but some of that time is spent in a destination that isn’t included in Feel At Home, this restriction won’t apply."
Which at first seems quite clear, although the term "may suspend" does indicate a degree of possible flexibility on their part - although I can't think under what circumstances they may offer an exception.0
