Cleaning makeup (foundation) off a car

The OH has makeup on her hands in the mornings and has made the plastic trim on the outside of my car have makeup stains.
It's been slowly building up over months without me realising because it's on the passenger side.
Does anyone have any recommendations how to remove? I've only really tried a car wash so far (no luck).

Yeah. Expending some energy and doing it by hand yourself would be a bit more likely to result in success than a bit of wet nylon tube slapping it in a car wash for 30 seconds. A cloth and a bit of T-Cut is all you need. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Try WD-40."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Do not follow this advice if you care about your car, T-cut should never be the fall back position to remove stubborn marks or stains, it's just plain lazy.Yeah. The chances are that it should go with just a decent hand wash, by yourself, using a good shampoo and wash mitt. If that doesn't shift it try using some tar & glue remover, such as http://www.halfords.com/motoring/car-cleaning/shampoo-polish-wax/autoglym-intensive-tar-remover-325ml0 -
It it's on the black textured trim try APC and a magic sponge. Take a look at this https://youtu.be/Q6-EG3Dlfxc from about 20:100

^this as well. (I forgot about the old magic sponge)0

I'd try bog standard, cheap, wet wipes, followed immediately by a dry bit of kitchen towel .... but a photo of the problem would help really.
Tell the mucky mare she needs to wash her hands.... right after SHE has fixed your problem as she caused it. She won't learn if you mop up her slop behind her.0 -

There's always one.......
Let's use "Water Displacer formula 40", designed to displace water from jet engines, to remove stains from a car exterior/interior........
Use the right stuff for the job, I would suggest makeup remover first and then rubbing alcohol like IPA (isopropanol) to remove the greasiness left behind (do not use acetone on plastic).“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Yes, it only has one use.
Given that most households will have a can there must be a lot of jet engines out there.0 -
