I take it this is the normal procedure. The companies involved are liasing directly with my dad as he owns the car but yet its my insurance.

Will i be liable to pay for the repairs for my dads car? My insurance have not asked me to pay any excess.

Your insurance is third party only. Your insurer is not dealing with this.

You have an accident management company acting for you/dad. The courtesy car will likely be a credit hire car. Check carefully what you sign.

If the other insurer won't pay the £500 a day for the hire car, he will get the bill.

Hire cars arranged through "accident management companies" (ambulance chasers) are massively expensive, and the other insurer sometimes won't pay, as you could have hired a gold plated helicopter cheaper, and they claim that you should have minimised your losses.

Best not to have the hire car, get the courtesy car from the repairer whilst it is actually in for repair.

  • He really needs to call his insurers and ask THEM to deal with the claim, and NOT an AMC, HE WILL have to pay for the hire car, as the other persons insurance WILL dispute the charges.

Do you think they will deal with the claim? Given the fact it looks like he let someone drive it who isn't on the policy.

Even if you did a complete stop, she still went into the back of you - not paying attention/leaving enough gap.
