Don't get me started on Morrisons Petrol Station. Sorry to hijack the thread, but donlt expect much help from Morrisons customer service.

I generally go to Sainsburys for my petrol even though Morrisons is nearer to my house as there is always such a big queue there.

One lunch time I nipped out to Morrisons to get petrol (tank v. low so had to go to Morrisons).

The pump vended about £1 worth and then stopped.

I went in to find out why. The cashier ignored me for a about a minute whilst she rifled through a file. Turned out she was checking my reg as it had come up on their system as a drive off.

She announced to a shop full of people that as I had driven off without paying approx 18 months ago, it had come up on thier system.

I had in fact only only the vehicle a few months and the outstanding amount was owed by a previous owner it seemed.

I started panicking about the hold up as I was due back at work (30 kids would be waiting for me!!!)

I explained that I would bring my log book in after work to prove that I did not own the car at the time of the drive off.

After much faffing around she agreed that I could carrying on filling up.

It vended another £1 and stopped again.

I was now getting in a state, so I went back in paid the £2 vended so far and dashed off to work.

After work, I went in with my log book to show them that I did not own the car at the time of the drive off.

The cashier said the mamager would have to deal with it and he had gone home for the day.

I went in again the next day a got the manager. He told me I would have to write to head office to get my vehicle taken off the system.
I asked why he couldn't just fax them a copy of my log book. He was generally very unhelpful and treated me like some kind of criminal.
I said that if he couldn't do it then I just would buy petrol elsewhere.

He said that I would just be stopped where ever I bought petorl as all the systems were linked (not true as I had been buying fuel from Sainburys for the last five months without a problem).

Anyway, I avoided the place for several months but had to go in again recently.

Same thing happened but this time the cashier was really helpful. She offered to ring the branch where the drive off had happened and explain the situation.
My car was taken off the system there and then

That would annoy me as well, id rather have a poster saying that there is a problem with the tills then you could decide to not get petrol from there and go somewhere else, hope you get a response

Might be worth sending a polite email of complaint to their chief executive mailto:marc.bolland@morrisonsplc.co.uk as this may well gett past the bureacracy to someone who will care about good customer service

A useful list of ceo emails is at http://www.connectotel.com/marcus/ceoemail.html

I once bought some petrol in morrisons-the tills werent working-the queue was getting longer and longer and causing congestion out one the main road nearby.,yet they were still letting cars fill up.I politely suggested to the staff that they get someone to start turning customers away, ( they couldnt comprehend the common sense in this) I left them a cheque on the counter and walked out. BTW Their cs is a joke-good luck.

I am in shock that the CEO replied to you, no offense, but we are just guys in the street to them. I am very impressed with Marc. Even though I do not believe he replied, I am still very impressed you got a reply and a result from him.
