Tesco mobile capped billing
We have monthly contracts with Tesco,750mb inclusive data per month. We HAVE to have a 'safety buffer',which I have placed at 2.50. I would love to have no buffer, and queries this with a customer assistant at Tesco who said no buffer would mean unlimited usage and charges once allowances have been exceeded. I explained that I only want to pay my monthly amount,I do not want to go over this and be charged extra, but was told I have to have the buffer. I acknowledge that this will mean no data etc once used, but I dont care. I pay enough as it is without having an enforced amount as a buffer! Anyone else have this issue with their provider ?

You cant have a contract that stops dead on the actual amount, you have to give them some flexibility.
They do offer you a choice of capped or uncapped presuambly you chose capped in the first place to cut your expenditure just in case you exceeded limit.
I cant see what your problem is.

" What’s the difference between a Capped contract and one that's not Capped?
A Capped contract gives you complete control over what you spend each month, with a little flexibility. As well as choosing your tariff amount, you also choose a safety buffer*, which is how much extra you're ok with paying each month for things not included in your monthly allowance. We then cap your bill at this amount, so you never get a bigger bill than you expect. *The minimum safety buffer is £2.50 and can vary dependent upon bundles taken
On the other hand, choose a tariff that's not Capped. These offer greater flexibility but are still subject to high usage limits."0 -

My experience from last year (along with the usual "helpful" comments from certain members of this community ).

Just have to live with the £2.50 buffer and factor that into the cost.0 -
Thanks, I do not want a safety buffer, thats my point. Nor do I want an uncapped contract, I just want to pay my basic monthly standard amount without paying extra for any usage that Ii could do without. While I am at it, the tesco xtras app seems to take a lot of data too, despite giving £3 off the bill...0

Remove the xtras app if it uses data.0

xtras app only use alot of data if you start opening them and start browsing the adverts. You get some free data added on for using xtras, so just cancel them as they appear. That way you will be ahead0
