To me, 'normal broadband' is 2 MBps
To others it may be half this or five times more.
What about you?0 -
Definitely check the expected speed for the ADSL service to your home.
Your usage sounds about medium, and the savings between ADSL & Fibre are not as great as they were (depending on your supplier).0 -
Normal is the standard tariff 17MBS or fibre at 34MBS

Use this to check the estimated speed for your property. Use the address checker.

I'm sick of being driven in a Rolls Royce, I think I'll go back to getting the bus.
Don't do it, it will only be worse.0 -
Definately check what you would get.
My choice here is fibre or unuseable!
And I don't mean that like some people would, I mean sub 512k no streaming etc etc. I am just top far from the exchange for non fibre to work.0 -
The ADSL thing is all 17mB and looks the same as what I call normal BB where as my fibre BB is 34+ MB
I think I will stay on Fibre now for an extra £5 per month

I did not think you could go back to normal once you had upgraded to fibre?
Edit. Just done some searching on other forums and at least one poster has said that he downgraded with Sky. Another poster said that BT told him it was not possible. However, it seems that most people who request the downgrade are simply offered better deals and end up staying with fibre.0
