Parcelforce ( or B and Q ) strike again

I have been waiting in all day for a delivery from B and Q, a heavy 32kg item that I ordered instore and which they promised me would be delivered today and with a call in the morning to give a rough idea of time.
I didn't hear anything but sat and waited (2 of us in the house) , took post in this morning from RM, took a parcel from UPS in for a neighbour but no sign of my parcel. Tried calling B and Q on the number on the invoice but they are experiencing a high level of demand call wise, finally got through a short while ago. Apparently they tried delivering at just before 10 am this morning but there was no one in. All very odd as we were in all the time listening for the door bell (we didn't even go into the garden in case we missed it)
They will try again tomorrow , which is great (NOT) as I'm home today from work for the delivery.
Oddly enough B and Q didn't sound at all surprised at my insisting they never tried to deliver, they seemed to accept the fact that Parcelforce have messed up somehow. I don't have any card left nor any tracking BTW, although B and Q do have tracking.

Nope I have nothing at all part from my order form and today's date for delivery. I ordered in store for home delivery rather than online though.
Edit: there is a tracking number on the text and if I input that on the PF site it just says 'out for delivery - SMS sent to customer'Did it arrive?

Still nothing and online tracking hasn't moved since the last message about being out for delivery and the SMS sent to customer message.
also, my OH has just pointed out that if I expand the tracking details it shows as an attempted delivery this morning and this afternoons delivery as being the 2nd attempt. According to the B and Q helpline I only get 2 attempted deliveries before Parcelforce give up and expect me to collect.

I do not blame you if you cancel and remember there are plenty of posters on this website that can advise as to section 75 CC rules or give help getting your money back;0)0
