Cannot Connect New Flat With New Provider Due To Cease

Hi folks,
Not necessarily a money thing but of a being mucked about thing.
I moved into a new property at the beginning of this month and had to change providers because Virgin can't supply my new property. I decided to go with Origin Broadband.
Origin e-mailed me a couple of days after signing up and paying, saying that the previous tenant had requested his broadband provider (Tentel) to put a cease on the line until 05/04/17.
I was OK to wait because it wasn't that long. I called Origin today as I hasn't heard anything since and was then told the cease is until 19/04/17 and to call Tentel to remove the cease.
I called Tentel straight away and asked them to remove the cease and the lady on the phone put me hold and then came back and said she doesn't think they can remove it before 19/04/17.
I'd like to know if this is correct or am I being mucked about? It seems silly that I can't connect because of something they've put on the line.
Please let me know if there are any other places that would be best suited to this type of query.
Many thanks!

They would only be able to stop the cease if their customer asked them to do it.
Doesn't look like there's much you can do.0
