Home & Contents Insurance

I am currently looking for home and contents insurance for our first house, so I am ready for when we exchange.

However, we have over £10K of valuables I need to specify, in and away from the home, including a £3K handbag.

My bag is insured, along with everything in it, at the minute on my parents house insurance, but I am struggling to find an insurance company where a bag is an option to specify. Our other items are easy as it is just jewellery.

Can anyone help with a good company? I have got a quote from More Than at the minute for around £200 a year, which seems amazing, but as I am new to this, I have my doubts!

Thanks!

hiscox, chubb for example are the premier house insurance companies who can cover high value goods, have a look at them, maybe cashback through the cashback websites

Do you live with your parents? If not then your handbag isn't covered on their policy.

The handbag is likely something you'd have to phone an insurer about.

Obvious answer is use the same company as your parents.
