Broadband refund

Options
Apologies if this has been asked previously but I signed up for fibre broadband and paid upfront for 18 months. Am about 6 weeks into the contract and the service has been woeful. I paid with a credit card, would I be able to cancel and get a refund under section 75? Thanks

What has the ISP done to attempt a fix?
  • They had set me up on the wrong speed at first, think this has been sorted but the speeds are still slow and it keeps dropping out. Part of the problem is it takes so long to get through to get through to their technical help desk. I rung once when I wasn't at the computer and arranged a call back but they didn't ring me back when they said they would

    Who is the ISP?

How is the fibre modem connected to the landline?

Do you have extension phone sockets? Are these all filtered?

As above, how are you testing speed? Via cable directly to the router or via WiFi?

Whilst there can be some horror stories, the majority of BB speed faults lie within the home.

Then you need to contact them again when you are at home.
  • Had 55-60 with talktalk, sky and BT,now getting speeds as low as 2,only thing that has changed is the provider and router

You still haven't answered the questions above
  • Again, who is the ISP?
  • Isp is origin. Router is plugged into the main socket with a filter and the computer is plugged into the router. Am getting slow speeds via cable and WiFi connection.
