Turntable lids ..

That's a seriously good turntable you have there, and really worth getting it back up to it's former glory!
I had the same trouble with my JBE Slate turntable and managed to repair the lid with some superglue, it's still holding together now about 30 years after I broke it ..0 -
As others have suggested, it is possible to have one fabricated. Whatever you do, keep hold of the hinges. They are not available as an item and haven’t been for years. Rare as rocking horse do do’s. They do break occasionally.
Also, keep an eye on Ebay etc. PT’s do occasonally get broken for parts, although prices can still be high. As far as I am aware, the lid on the LPT is the same as PT1’s, PT2’s etc. Original lids were either pink or smokey brown. Somewhere in the back of my memory I seem to remember a few ’specials’ in blue as well.0 -

what about something like this,
Width: 440mm
Depth: 345mm
Height: 67mm
£22.90 + £5 postage.
That looks great . My turntable is in storage at the moment, so I'll,check measurements soon
Thanks

Yeah , there was a pink tint to the lid .
I have an alert on Ebay set up. The lids are rare , and if they do come up go for around £50 and condition is still fragile,0 -
$0.68, possibly much tougher and pink, plus multi use.

Thought about taking your lid to an aquarium shop as they might be able to fix your lid, or make a bespoke one? Think it may cost more than the lid on the other post
This reminds me of something I need after watching eastenders or a reality programme on t v

Mine is a PT Original from 1982 and has a clear acrylic lid.
I either paid £200 or £400 for the deck (can’t remember exactly but as I recall the price was on par with the Linn Sondek, so probably £400) and had it fitted with a Helius Aurum tonearm at around £200 and a Dynavector Karat Ruby cartridge, again at around £200.
Despite the general cr*p quality of vinyl foisted on a supine public by a complacent recording industry at that time, the sound from this set-up was far superior to the over-hyped CD format which came out the following year and probably still is some 35 years later.
Nostalgia – it’s not what it used to be
