23 years of repeated 6 months or has the rental market in your area changed recently? We found that one of our areas got an oversupply of 2 bed terraced houses so we looked for a gap in the market and went over to 3 bed houses.
You may have a point, but it is detached above a very quiet shop(or it used to be--I think I will see if it is still quiet).I am a LandLord,(under review) so there!:p0 -
Are you using an agent to manage? Is the agent insisting on further fixed tenancies after the initial six months is up and charging the tenants for the privilege? Does the place need updating?0

Please explain what on earth you are talking about?
I am talking about the not uncommon complaint from tenants that, having been told (or thought they heard) that the tenancy would be long term, for as long as they like, after 6/12/woteva months Landlord issues s21 & evicts tenant.
The converse of what you are unhappy about.
Both are, IMHO, sadly a reflection of the duplicity of human kind...

If you offer better security of tenure you should be able to command a higher rent for that security - an assured tenancy with no fixed term can typically command 10% more than a fixed term assured shorthold tenancy for that security but would only really be for a longer term investment.
A five year term should still be more appealing and command a higher rent than a basic 1 year term with little security.0
