Which are best and worst combi boilers

Remeha's are useless, wouldn't go near them. Stick with the German manufacturers and you will not go far wrong.
Worcester and vaillant are the 2 most common boilers by a mile and usually realiable. I see between 30 to 50 boilers a week and I'd say at least half are Worcester or vaillants, they do tend to be expensive though. The Worcester has a lot of plastic the vaillant has some but I wouldn't let that worry you too much, both come with long warranties and I don't do many repairs on either.0 -
I have a Vokera Linea 24. According to BG its at least 14 yo. Its broken down on me twice. BG tells me that Vokera will probably stop product support in about 3 years time. Thats fine by me. I equate brand favouritism to motors cars.0

I tend to think that there's not much point in skimping on the boiler itself, because the largest part of the lifetime cost of owning a boiler (not including fuel) is installation and maintenance.
My boiler is a Potterton which I believe is 31 years old. I did have to source a part on eBay when it broke down, though..."Einstein never said most of the things attributed to him" - Mark Twain0 -

What would you say are the most common faults on a combi as you look at so many ?
Plate heat exchanger, divertor valves ?I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
Which brands have the most solid warranties? If it's anything like the car industry, I'm a bit wary of them. Some car makers seem to weasel out of repairs wherever possible, especially if the car is a bit older."Einstein never said most of the things attributed to him" - Mark Twain0

southcoastrgi Any fault relating to poor system water quality.
Most boiler will give you at least 5yr warranty and some do 7/10yr as long as there serviced and the system is clean. Make sure your rads are clean, has the right chemicals and fit a magnetic system filter and you'll be fine.0 -
Each year the consumers association polls 11,000 members to find out which brand has had the most breakdowns, and 170 gas engineers to see which brand they recommend. The one that wins hands down every year is Worcester Bosch, Vaillant comes a good second.
I have had Vaillant and Worcester Bosch and both have been good. The local plumbers have said that they would recommend these two brands (they did not install them). Current one (Worcester Bosch) is the best I have had by far.To err is human, but it is against company policy.0 -
I had a Worcester Bosch Junior 28i at my old flat for 15 years and it was very good, never had a problem with it0

We bought a pair of semis in 2010
One already had an 'old' Worcester boiler and the other needed a replacement so we chose Vaillant
So far, apart from servicing, we have spent zero on the Worcester and the Vaillant has had two major repairs costing over £100 first time and about £300 the 2nd time.0
