How to transfer to Yorkshire Building Society ISA

Options
My current ISA is giving me a really low rate and I was wondering how would I transfer it to Yorkshire Building Society. I don't have any of their branches nearby so wouldn't be able to do it by branch.

I would consider 1.35% to be a really low rate, so I don't see the attraction personally, but if you really want to, you could apply online or by phone.

If you consider 1.35% a low rate, are there any recommendations you would suggest that would be a better investment. Ideally I am after something that is fixed and risk free so no stocks and share isas.

Appreciate any advice you can give me.

You could make use of Nationwide's 5% FlexDirect account, their associated 5% regular saver, and the 5% regular saver accounts from First Direct, HSBC and M&S. There are some other accounts paying 3%. For most people that's plenty of cash to hold on deposit. For any excess, there are 3 year fixes at 1.9% I believe, but depending on how much cash you have, you could end up paying tax on part of the interest - if you're a higher rate taxpayer, then an ISA might make sense for anything that would take your annual interest over £500.

    Details are all here:

Accounts can be opened with a minimum of £100 in the following ways:

In a branch or at an agency
By calling 0345 1200 200 to request an application pack to be sent to you.

The account can be managed in branch, at an agency, by post or online.

you should then get an ISA transfer form in the pack that you can use to transfer your existing ISA from whoever to Yorkshire.
